Fundraising page set up for family of Keaton, 12, from Coventry, who was killed in hit and run

A fundraising page set up to help the family of a 12-year-old Coventry boy who was killed in a hit and run has already raised almost £16,000.

The incident happened yesterday (Friday) at around 4.30pm on Radford Road, which resulted in the loss of Keaton Slater’s life. The BMW involved failed to stop but was later impounded by police. The driver is still being hunted by police.

The organizer of the fundraising page said: “NO parent should ever have to deal with the trauma of losing a child so young.

“Keaton’s family have been told about this JustGiving page and are very grateful that it is being done as they try to deal with what has happened.

This fundraiser will help the parents and family with funeral expenses and any other living costs.

“By doing this, it will give them time to begin to process and mourn the loss of their son/brother without the added burden of worrying about paying for a funeral and going to work.”

All money will go directly to the parents.

The money raised can be used by the family however they decide to do so, this could be for funeral costs or any other financial help the family may need such as household bills or allowing them to take time off work or even pay for specialist advice.

Keaton’s father posted a Facebook tribute to his son: “He was mini-me, he was the light and soul of our little family.

“We can’t believe this happened still expecting him to come into the room like the fun life he was in.

“I’m so devastated right now

“RUN away from me my youngest boy.”
