McDonald’s fans ask “why” when new “May menu” is announced.

McDonald’s fans have been asking “why” after bosses at the fast food giant teased a “new menu” on Friday.

The update comes after certain food-based social media accounts told their many followers that a host of old favorites are returning to McDonald’s UK restaurants. And as regular diners will know, the menu undergoes a change from time to time, with some items removed to make way for the return of others or brand new delights.

In a new Instagram post, McDonald’s shared a photo of a cheesy Quarter Pounder, but with giant pickles replacing the regular bun. Another snap featured a McFlurry mozzarella stick, while a third featured a giant “Big McNugget.”

The update was captioned: “PSA: If it looks fake… it probably is (laughing emoji) Make sure a ‘leaked menu’ is correct before you get excited… Although let’s be honest… we all would a pickled burger, right?”

McDonald’s fans loved the joke as @uknewestfoods said: “Never needed anything more than that big nugget” and Ethan said: “Petition to put the Big McNugget on the menu.” Jake said, “Damn, I’d love a McPickle,” and Leo said, “Bring back the Legend of the Chickens!”

Charlotte said, “Why isn’t the big nugget real, though?”
