A 12-year-old boy has been killed in Coventry after being hit by a car that failed to stop.

The collision happened shortly after 4.30pm last night on Radford Road.

Police said that despite the efforts of the ambulance service, the boy sadly died at the scene.

A BMW car was seized by the police.

Those inside the vehicle had left the area.

Police want to contact witnesses or those with dash cam footage.

Sergeant Rich Evans, from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We would appeal to the driver or any passengers who were in the vehicle to do the right thing and contact us. A 12 year old boy has tragically lost his life and we need you to come forward and surrender.

“We are helping to support the family at this very difficult time as they try to understand what has happened.
