Taylor Swift fights back tears as she is stopped at the final show at Anfield

Taylor Swift was overwhelmed by the crowd’s response to her final show in Liverpool tonight.

The world’s biggest pop star played the last of three sold out shows on the Eras tour at Anfield on Saturday. The 34-year-old was amazed by the special atmosphere generated by the fans inside the Liverpool FC stadium as she said goodbye to Merseyside.

After a rendition of Champagne Problems, Taylor was stopped by the incredible standing ovation and took some time to soak in the moment. Taylor paused the show and took out his receiver so he could really appreciate the moment in L4.

She mouthed “that’s cool” and fought back tears before grabbing the microphone to address the crowd. She said: “It is truly an honor to play in front of such crowds.

“I love you so much Liverpool, thank you.” During yesterday’s show, Taylor said Liverpool had made an “amazing impression” on her and the Merseyside leg was particularly important to the singer. Thursday’s concert marked the 100th performance of the record-breaking Eras Tour, which will conclude in December.

Taylor said it was a privilege to play for Liverpool as he told the crowd tonight: “Liverpool just look at you. I have to be honest, you make me feel absolutely fantastic right now.”
