A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman near Liskeard

A homicide investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in the Liskeard area of ​​Cornwall, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to a report of a deceased woman at a secluded property near Merrymeet at around 08:40 BST on Saturday.

A 75-year-old man from the Liskeard area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Police said the woman who died and the suspect were believed to be acquaintances.
