TRANSFER: Marco Rus joins Ayr United – News

Coventry City can confirm that midfielder Marco Rus has joined Ayr United.

The 21-year-old Russian has joined the Scottish Championship side for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

Rus joined Coventry City from Southampton in July 2021 and was part of the Under 21 side that won the Professional Development League title in May 2022, scoring in the final win against Bristol City.

In 2022/23, Marco was an influential member of the Sky Blues Under-21 squad that reached the Birmingham Senior Cup final, wearing the captain’s armband on several occasions.

Last season he had loan spells at Chorley FC and also FC Universitatea Cluj in Romania, as well as playing on the bench for Sky Blues first team matches.
