Man fighting for life in hospital after horror North Circular crash following M11 police chase

A man is in a life-threatening condition in hospital following a horrific crash during a police chase in the early hours of Saturday (June 15). At around 4.30am, Essex Police said Essex Police had officers following a car that failed to stop on the M11.

The car then crashed into a barrier along the A406 North Circular Southbound before breaking through the barrier and leaving the carriageway. A Met Police spokesman said no one else was injured in the serious crash.




The A406 North Circular Southbound has been closed from the A104 Woodford New Road (Waterworks Corner, South Woodford) to the A12 Eastern Avenue (Redbridge Roundabout, Redbridge) for more than 10 hours as engineers carry out accident investigation work and barrier repairs . It led to severe delays, so only pass if absolutely necessary and leave with plenty of time.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “On Saturday 15 June, shortly after 4.31am, the MET were notified by colleagues from Essex Police that they had launched a pursuit after a vehicle failed to stop. along the M11, Essex. He then traveled to the Met area.

“Officers from Essex later confirmed that the vehicle had collided with a barrier along the A406 before leaving the carriageway. The driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital, where he remains in life-threatening condition. No one else was hurt.

“One stage – managed by the Met because it is in our area – is in place. Met officers were not involved in the pursuit. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.” London Ambulance Service (LAS) has been contacted for comment.
