Manchester United have “initiated contact” over a deal for the Austrian kid

Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Austrian youngster Oghenetejiri Adejenughure’s representatives to discuss a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United they held discussions with representatives of Austrian youth Oghenetejiri Adejenughure to discuss a move to Old Trafford this summer.

The 17-year-old has a contract Red Bull Salzburgalthough he is yet to make a first team appearance for the Austrian outfit.

However, Adejenughure scored 16 times in 20 appearances at Under-18 level last term and also managed eight goals in 12 outings for Austria Under-17s.

Lots of clubs including AC Milan and Borussia Dortmundthey say they follow before, but according The Expressthere is also a strong interest from Man United.

The report claims that the Red Devils have held talks with the teenager’s representatives to discuss a possible move to the 20-time English champions.

Man United ‘open talks over Adejenughure deal’

Head coach of Austria Ralf Rangnickwho was previously in charge of Man United on an interim basis, is said to have earmarked the teenager as a future star.

Adejenughure is likely to feature for reverse side Salzburg in Austria’s second division if he stays this summer, but a number of clubs are reportedly hoping to do a deal.

A senior call-up for Austria is understood not to be far off for the youngster and the 2024-24 campaign will be a breakthrough season for the in-demand striker.

Man United already have a set of talented youngsters

Alejandro Garnacho19, managed 10 goals and five assists in 50 appearances in 2023-24, while the 19-year-old Kobbie Mainoo scored five goals and provided one assist in 32 outings.

Hojlund, Garnacho and Mainoo would be three of the six players who cannot be sold at Old Trafford, while Harry Amass17 and Ethan Wheatley18 years old, were involved with the first team towards the end of last season.

Man United are also looking to bring in a new centre-back this summer and have already made a bid of £35m plus add-ons for Jarrad Branthwaitewhich is set to be denied by Everton.

A new central midfielder is also a priority for the Red Devils this summer, with Benficahis Joao Neves he is believed to be their top target, but the Portugal international’s release clause in his contract is set at €120m (£101.6m).
