Bristol Sounds 2024: Everything you need to know including headliners, tickets and banned items

While many people will be counting down the days until Glastonbury Festival right now, for those of us in Bristol (especially those who weren’t lucky enough to get a ticket this year) it’s Bristol Sounds from 2024 on which we look forward to.

The event, which runs from June 22-30 at the Harborside Amphitheatre, boasts a stellar line-up featuring some of the biggest names in the music world. From Skindred to Busted, Placebo to James Arthur and Annie Mac, some of this year’s dates include full days of performances as well as food and drink and ‘summer festival/party vibes’.

We’ve compiled everything you need to know about Bristol Sounds 2024 – from the line-up to whether tickets are still available, travel options, facilities, when the doors open and what you should and shouldn’t bring. ..

When and where is Bristol Sounds this year?

Bristol Sounds 2024 takes place at Canons Marsh Amphitheater (Canons Way, Bristol, BS1 5LL), known locally as Lloyds Amphitheater. The event runs from June 22-30, with different artists performing on different dates.

Who’s playing – and when?

Here’s the full list of headliners each day of the event, as well as when doors open and checkpoints are set up each day:

• June 22 – Skindred: Doors open at 2:00pm and the resort is at 11:00pm
• June 23 – Gentlemans Dub Club: Doors open at 1pm and the venue is at 10.30pm
• June 26 – James Arthur: Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the resort is at 10:30 p.m.
• June 27 – Ruined: Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the resort is at 10:45 p.m.
• June 28 – Placebo: Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the resort is at 10:30 p.m.
• June 29 – Annie Mac: Doors open at 2:00 p.m. and the resort is at 11:00 p.m.
• June 30 – The Breeders: Doors open at 1:00 p.m. and the resort is at 10:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 22

Headlined by Skindred, with support from Reef, A, Kris Barras Band, Lake Malice, Cody Frost, RXPTRS, Kid Bookie, Petch, Mother Vulture and more to be announced.

Sunday, June 23

Gentleman’s Dub Club and The Skints headline, with support from The Dualers, Dreadzone, Hollie Cook, Kiko Bun and Count Skylarkin.

Wednesday, June 26

James Arthur headlines with support from Calum Bowie.

Thursday, June 27

Broken title with support from Skinny Living and Soap.

Friday, June 28

Title Placebo with support from Porridge Radio and Friedberg.

Saturday, June 29

Annie Mac headlines this event ‘Before Midnight’ with support from Wookie, Scarlett O’Malley and Melle Brown.

Sunday, June 30

This ‘all day event’ is headlined by The Breeders with support from Ty Segall, Squid, CSS, The Waeve, Mary In The Junkyard, Welly, Grandmas House, Sam Akpro, Sunglasz Vendor, The Stanford, Family Band, Pem and TTSSFU.

Are tickets still available for either date?

According to the website at the time of writing, tickets for all dates (bar Placebo on June 28) are still available. However, if you purchase a ‘Bristol Sounds Golden Ticket’ you will receive tickets for all dates (including Placebo).

A golden ticket will set you back around £250 each. While ticket prices for individual dates vary.

The different types of tickets, in addition to general and accessible tickets, that you can choose from are as follows:

VIP Standing tickets – The VIP viewing area is an elevated area directly across from the center stage in a prime viewing location. VIP tickets also give you exclusive access to VIP bars, a dedicated entrance lane, three drink tokens and a souvenir lanyard.

VIP seats – The VIP seating area is an elevated area directly across from the center stage in a prime viewing location. VIP tickets also give you exclusive access to the VIP bar, a dedicated entrance lane, three drink tokens and a souvenir lanyard.

Unreserved seats – Your ticket entitles you to a seat in the elevated seating area opposite the stage, to the right of the VIP area, in a privileged viewing location.

How to get there

The main entrance to the site is through Waterfront Square for all ticket types.

Parking: A large underground car park (with a large amount of disabled spaces) is right next to the concert venue.

Taxi drop off: There are taxi ranks at every major travel point in Bristol, they can drop you off at Waterfront Square, right outside the main gates. You can use this as a meeting point for taxis after the show.

Bus/coach: The venue is a 10 minute walk from The Center bus stops. Buses throughout the city terminate here, we recommend downloading the FirstBus app before traveling to check your route.

Train: The nearest station is Bristol Temple Meads. The venue is a 20 minute walk from the train station or a short taxi/bus ride – you can catch the number 8 bus from the station which runs through Harborside, not far from the site.

Will there be food and drink (and toilets) on site?

The bar and food court area will open every weekday at 17:00 to the general public, no ticket is required until 30 minutes before the official door opening time. No food or drink can be brought into the site – but you can bring your own empty water bottles as free water is available on site.

There are plenty of toilets on site, including VIP and accessibility areas.

What you should and shouldn’t bring with you

This event is cashless, so be sure to bring cards or means for contactless payments, in addition to an empty bottle that you can fill with water on site if you need to. Here is a list of forbidden items – make sure you leave them at home:

• Backpacks and bags that are not a sensible size – all bags will be searched upon entry
• FLAGS
• Chairs
• Any recording equipment or professional cameras

• Any food or drink
• umbrellas
• Anything that could be used as a weapon
• Alcohol/illegal drugs.
