Woman’s sunglasses warn after she loses her eyeball

A TikTok user has shared a harrowing story of how he lost an eye after his sunglasses broke during a car accident.

Hannah Oliver posted a video that has since gone viral with more than 1.8 million views, detailing the traumatic event and warning others.




In her cautionary tale, she said: “I lost my eye to breaking sunglasses and let me tell you, this is something you probably do all the time.” She said it happened while she was driving with her “favorite sunglasses” on a sunny day.

She continued with a warning about the dangers of plastic lenses: “The problem is that most of the sunglasses you probably wear are made of straight plastic lenses. And basically what that means is on whatever impact they’re going to break.”

Hannah then recounted the moment of the collision. She said: “So I was driving and this guy pulled out in front of me, I didn’t react fast enough and when I did I slammed on the brakes and rear-ended him… I was only doing 25 years. miles an hour.”

The impact triggered his airbag, which then hit his sunglasses. She said: “When it happened my airbag went off and it hit my sunglasses squarely.
