Manchester City are big fans of the Germany international, but buying him is a different proposition

Manchester City are reportedly big fans of Germany international Jamal Musiala, according to a new report. While that may be the case, convincing Bayern Munich to sell one of their prized assets is an entirely different proposition for Manchester City.

Fabrizio Romano reported in his Daily Briefing column that the world champions are big fans of Musiala. Moreover, Romano also reports that Bayern Munich is preparing a new contract offer for Musiala. He also says that the negotiations between Musiala and Bayern will be resumed after the European Championships this summer. It’s also included in Romano’s report that he could be a problem for Bayern if he arrives next summer, with Musiala only having one year left on his contract. Finally, Romano adds that there are other clubs in England interested in signing Musiala besides Manchester City.

Manchester City would be desperate to add a player of Jamal Musiala’s caliber to their squad. The German international is one of the young rising stars of European football. This was on full display in Germany’s 5-1 win over Scotland in their Euro 24 opener. He put in a man-of-the-match display as he bagged a goal and an assist in Germany’s emphatic victory. His dribbling ability, eye for a pass and finishing ability were on display. It was clear why Manchester City are big fans of the German international.

Convincing Bayern Munich to part with one of their prized assets is a difficult proposition.

However, it would be a difficult proposition for Manchester City to prize Musiala away from Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga giants are unlikely to be willing to sell the young playmaker this summer. He has the potential to become the face of their club as well as one of those key players for years to come. Bayern Munich would likely have no intention of selling their star midfielder as he currently stands.

The only two ways it looks like Musiala could leave Bayern is if he asks for a transfer or refuses to sign a new contract at the club. If this scenario were to happen, Manchester City could have a chance to land the Germany international. But a lot needs to happen for this to become a realistic proposition.

As things stand, Manchester City are big fans of Jamal Musiala. But going from Musiala’s big fans to his transformation into Pep Guardiola’s team is a completely different scenario. It may also be too difficult a scenario to achieve this summer however much the world champions admire Musiala’s talents.
