New weak jab rules in UK because ‘someone could die from abuse’

The UK could comply with new ‘fat jab’ rules with the Labor Party ‘horrified’ someone could die from the abuse. Wes Streeting, the Shadow Health Secretary, spoke on Sunday (June 16) and admitted he fears the weak shots.

Mr Streeting said: “My strong advice to Sun on Sunday readers is not to take any new medical medication without first consulting your GP. Whatever you do, don’t think that taking this kind of medication to be pretty on Instagram is safe or sensible.

“It is a serious risk to our health. And I’m very concerned about where we are as a society in terms of body image. I am very concerned that medicines that could make a positive difference to our health are at risk of being misused.

“And I’m really terrified that someone is going to die.” He added: “I think we’re going to need a lot more clinical oversight and regulation.

“I’m basically supporting myself during this campaign on a diet of coffee and Haribo Tangfastics,” he said. “This is not recommended.” Professor Steve Powis, NHS England’s national medical director, spoke as evidence emerged that increasing numbers of people who do not medically qualify to receive the drugs are getting them through online pharmacies.

Powis said: “We know these new drugs will be a powerful part of our obesity arsenal – but they should not be abused. Buying medicines online without a doctor’s supervision can lead to complications and dangerous consequences.

“Medications, including Ozempic and Wegovy, should only be used by people prescribed for obesity or diabetes. I am concerned about reports of people abusing them. They are not intended as a quick fix for people trying to get their “beach body” ready.
