Coventry hit and run: Police name 21-year-old wanted in death of 12-year-old boy | UK news

Keaton Slater was hit by a black BMW on Radford Road shortly after 4.30pm on Friday. Officers seized an abandoned car of the same type found in New Arley, which is being forensically examined.

Police have named a 21-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of a 12-year-old boy who died in a hit-and-run accident.

Dolars Aleksanders is wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, West Midlands Police said.

The call comes after Keaton Slater’s family paid tribute to a “fun-loving little comedian” who was “so beautiful inside and out”.

He was hit by a car on Radford Road, Coventryon Friday, shortly after 4:30 p.m., and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police released a photo of Keaton wearing a Coventry City football shirt, along with a tribute from his family.

“We will all miss our fun loving little comedian, he just wanted to make everyone laugh and smile,” they said.

“He was so beautiful inside and out, our baby and our baby brother. Life can be so horrible.”

Officers seized an abandoned black BMW found in New Arley on Friday night, which is being forensically examined.

Police said one person turned himself in at a police station Saturday night and was released under investigation after being voluntarily interviewed.

Sergeant Rich Evans, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A family have lost a 12-year-old boy in a horrific incident and our thoughts are with them.

“We are supporting them in this most dire of times and keeping them informed as we work to track down those responsible.

“We would like to thank all those people who have already contacted us with information and our inquiries are progressing.

“But we would again appeal to those involved, or anyone who knows them, to search their conscience, do the right thing and tell us what you know.”
