Nuneaton police dispersal order amid ‘incidents of anti-social behavior’ in town

Police have put in place a dispersal order around Nuneaton town centre. They say it is in light of “further incidents of anti-social behavior” tonight (June 16).

Rarely used locally, the dispersal order gives police the power to move groups of two or more young people into the ‘dispersal order’ area. Police say this has been granted to cover Nuneaton town center as defined by the ring road, including Riversley Park.

It is not known how long the dispersal order will be in effect. No details of the nature of the “incidents of anti-social behaviour” that took place.

A post on Nuneaton and Bedworth Police’s Facebook page explained the dispersal order and appealed: “Parents/guardians if you have unsupervised children outside and can ensure you keep them away from the town center whilst the dispersal is in place please “.
