Prince William says Kate is “doing well” during her visit to Cornwall

The Prince of Wales said his wife Kate is “doing well” following her cancer diagnosis.

William provided the update during his first official visit to the Isles of Scilly since becoming Duke of Cornwall, a title he holds in addition to that of Prince of Wales.

In March the Princess of Wales revealed she is being treated for cancer in an emotional video statement issued by Kensington Palace.

William visited St Mary’s Community Hospital on Friday and couldn’t resist stopping to buy some traditional pasta.

The prince, known locally as the Duke of Cornwall, arrived in St Mary’s by boat after traveling from Tresco, one of the smaller islands.

As the Pegasus, bearing the Duke of Cornwall’s flag, disembarked, a small cheer went up from the crowd of onlookers in the harbour.

The prince hailed the “glorious” weather before strolling to the On the Quay cafe, where he bought five traditional cakes for £5.50 each.

Outside, the heir to the throne was greeted by a group of tourists queuing on the harbor to greet him, admitting that he would like to stay.

“My family is very upset that I’m here without them,” he laughed. “The kids will kill me if I don’t go home later.”

Meanwhile, his brother Prince Harry and wife Meghan began a three-day visit to Nigeria.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex they began their journey on Friday with a welcome at the Nigerian Defense Headquarters in the capital Abuja to promote the Prince Invictus Games.

The trip comes just days after Harry gave a speech at St Paul’s Cathedral in London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

He he did not meet the king during his flying visit to Britaindespite the King hosting his first garden party of the season at nearby Buckingham Palace on the same evening.

On Thursday, Charles, who is Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Engineers, visited the 3 Royal School of Military Engineering in Minley, Surrey, and is understood to have also received cancer treatment as an outpatient in mid-week.

The king joked that he was delighted to be “out of my cage”.
