Premier League club to listen to loan offers for ‘unbelievable’ talent, Leeds head of queue

Leeds United are interested in taking a Premier League defender on loan this summer and his club are now ready to listen to loan offers in the coming weeks and months.

The Whites will need to bring in some defensive reinforcements this summer. Joe Rodon has returned to Tottenham, where his contract has been extended, amid interest from Southampton.

Meanwhile, Connor Roberts has returned to parent club Burnley and while Leeds remain interested in completing a deal, it is unclear whether Burnley are willing to sell the Wales star, but it leaves Leeds short for now .

The Whites are in need of a right-back with Jamie Shackleton’s contract in question but he remains set to leave on June 30. The same goes for Liam Cooper, while Archie Gray should move into central midfield.

So Daniel Farke needs a right-back at Leeds, and maybe even two. A defender who can play as a right-back or centre-back would certainly be ideal and the 20-year-old star has been linked with Leeds.

Chelsea will listen to offers for the Leeds target in the coming weeks

Alfie Gilchrist emerged as a breakthrough talent under Mauricio Pochettino last season, playing 17 times in all competitions for Chelsea so far. But it seems Enzo Maresca isn’t willing to let him build on that.

Football London claim Chelsea are willing to listen to loan offers for Gilchrist amid interest from the Championship, and the report says they name just one club who are interested in Farke’s Leeds form.

Links with Leeds are nothing new, with initial reports claiming Leeds’ interest surfaced earlier this month. It certainly makes sense in terms of the type of player Leeds need to sign in the next few weeks.

What John Terry said about Chelsea talent Alfie Gilchrist

Gilchrist’s form has not gone unnoticed by those of the Chelsea persuasion and there is real hope among those at Stamford Bridge that he can become a Blues player for years to come.

But with the competition from Chelsea, he needs to go out and get regular game time and a move to Elland Road will give him that. Chelsea legend Terry is a big fan, citing his attitude as a big plus.

“Alfie Gilchrist, he’s a very good player. He has an incredible attitude. He does so well every day, he does everything right. I think he’s got a good chance,” Terry said recently, according to Football London.
