Hundreds of England fans pack BOXPARK for Euro 2024 as Atomic Kitten take to the stage

Fans packed BOXPARK to cheer England on at the European Championships.

Gareth Southgate’s side take on Serbia tonight in their first match of Euro 2024. England fans will be hoping that the Three Lions can go one step further than their performance in 2021 when they were beaten by Italy on penalties in the final at Wembley Stadium.

Fans turned out in England shirts, scarves, hats and flags as they packed BOXPARK in the Baltic Triangle to watch Sunday’s game. An hour before kick-off, Atomic Kitten took to the stage to perform some of their biggest hits, including ‘Whole Again’, which they re-released as ‘Southgate You’re the One’ ahead of the Euro semi-final 2021.

Sam Goodman, 28, traveled from Essex to Liverpool for the first time on Sunday to watch England play the Euros. Sam said: “I think it will be amazing. We will smash Europe in the park.

“He’s coming home, 2024 is the year. Everything is lined up. You heard it here first.”

Jacob Crook came to Liverpool from Wigan with his friends to watch the England match tonight. The 21-year-old was not as confident that England would go all the way, but added: “It will be a lot better if they win it. It will set things up in the summer.”

Jacob Fine, 27, originally from Manchester but living in Aigburth, has a ticket to a quarter-final match in Germany this year. He said: “I’ve never been to the Euros or the World Cup before, it’s always something I’ve wanted to do.

“England probably won’t be playing (in Germany because of the fixtures) but I’ll be there to get the atmosphere. Having seen previous tournaments, it brings the country together. They’re a really nice group of lads.”
