Crysencio Summerville transfer could hinge on Michael Olise as Liverpool man looks to reunite

Liverpool are reportedly still credited with an interest in Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville.

The winger is highly likely to leave Elland Road this summer after Leeds failed to secure promotion back to the Premier League at the end of the season. The Whites were beaten 1-0 by Southampton in the final at Wembley.

Liverpool, who are expected to be in the market for a wide player this summer, are said to have the Dutchman on their shortlist. According to Give Me Sport, Summerville has emerged as a player of interest to the Reds and could be available for a fee of around £35m.

Sky Sports pundit Michael Dawson adds that the rating could be “pretty good”, even if Leeds could rate him “a bit higher”. The Whites will need to offload some of their key players to free up funds as they prepare for another season in the Championship.

Dawson also claims Liverpool could have plenty of competition for Summerville if the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United fail to sign Michael Olise. Summerville is available for half the price of Olise’s £60m release clause.

Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp’s former assistant coach Pep Lijnders is keen on a reunion with out-of-favour goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros at RB Salzburg. Lijnders is set to take over at the Austrian club this summer and wants to put his own stamp on the team.
