Bradford City eye reunion move for Tyreik Wright from Plymouth Argyle

Bradford City are keen to bring Plymouth Argyle winger Tyreik Wright back to the club, reporter Alan Nixon has said on Patreon.

Bradford City have an important summer transfer window ahead of them as they look to become strong contenders for promotion from League Two again.

It will be Graham Alexander’s first summer window in charge of Valley Parade, giving him a real chance to shape the squad to his liking ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

There were promising signs from the Bantams at times and they put some impressive runs together to climb up the League Two ladder. With some fresh faces and more consistency, they should be in the conversation at the right end of the division next season.

Now, they are said to be keen to reunite with a familiar face this summer.

Reporter Alan Nixon claims on Patreon that Bradford City are keen to bring winger Tyreik Wright back to the club, either permanently or temporarily.

Amid a battle for playing time with Championship side Plymouth Argyle, Wright, 22, returned for a second loan spell in January. He scored twice in 14 league games, taking his tally for the club to six goals and two assists in 32 outings.

Wright has other interests but is aware he will get minutes with the Bantams, the report added.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

Best for Wright?

With Plymouth Argyle remaining in the Championship, he looks unlikely to get regular minutes there.

Of course, the change in management with Wayne Rooney at the reins may well give him an opportunity to attract attention in pre-season. The new boss will likely want to evaluate everyone in his ranks, including Wright.

If the door is indeed open for him to move away from Home Park, Bradford City could be a likely destination.

It’s a club he’s become more than familiar with over two loan spells and with good game time from Alexander, it could be a great place for him to start again after a couple of stop-start campaigns.

What will be interesting to see is if anyone else comes for him, with other interest in Wright there.

Loan or permanent

The length of Wright’s contract with Plymouth Argyle is not publicly disclosed and that could have an impact on whether he leaves again temporarily or is allowed to move on permanently.

The latter could be ideal for the Irishman, giving him the chance to settle into a permanent home and start elsewhere. It also seems likely given his place in the Pilgrims’ order.

However, if he has more than a year left on his contract, Argyle could send him out on loan just to leave the door open for him to stay on.

Bradford City will be sure to keep a close eye on developments. Regardless of the available offer, it looks like the Bantams will be looking to bring Wright back this summer.
