North Shore teenager shot outside market bin

LYNN, MA — A 17-year-old boy found shot to death in his crashed car outside a Lynn Market bin was pronounced dead at Salem Hospital Saturday night.

Lynn police said the teenager was found in his car on Federal Street around 9 p.m. Saturday after they responded to a report of shots fired. Police said an initial investigation indicated it was not a random act.

“This is another example of the devastating impact gun violence has on the lives of our young people,” said Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker. “Our hearts go out to the victim’s family. We will work diligently to obtain justice on their behalf.”

Massachusetts State Police and Lynn police were seeking the public’s help with any information that could lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects in the case.

“We will not stop until those responsible for this outrageous act of gun violence are held accountable,” said Lynn Police Chief Chris Reddy.
