Skip fire involving ‘exposure risks’ sees huge response from emergency services

A SKIP fire which involved “risks of exposure” and saw smoke spread to nearby properties in Bradford has seen a huge response from emergency services.

Almost 10 fire engines were called to the outdoor fire on Guy Street, on the edge of the city centre, at 5.33pm on Sunday.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We attended a fire with exposure risks and smoke had spread to neighboring properties.”

Firefighters used two large jets, a hose reel, four breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilators to battle the blaze.

Firefighters from Bradford, Odsal, Shipley, Fairweather Green and Bingley fire stations attended as did special teams including an aerial apparatus, air support, a command unit and a command support unit.
