Dunelm sells double egg chair perfect for garden days this summer

Dunelm shoppers go crazy for a garden egg chair, with many claiming it’s incredibly easy to assemble and others sharing how affordable and comfortable it is.

The Double Egg Chair costs £319, a 20% saving on the original price of £399. The chair is a larger version of the popular egg-shaped hanging garden chair and is weatherproof with a powder-coated steel frame and a unique rattan design.

On the Dunelm website, the product listing says: “Relax in style with our Double Egg chair, designed with a strong metal frame and modern rattan hanging seat. The chair is weather resistant with a powder coated steel frame making it suitable for all year round use and sure to last you for years to come!”

In the review section of the Dunelm website, many buyers eagerly shared their thoughts on the product they purchased, giving it an overall average star rating of 4.8. One buyer said: “Great product, very comfortable and a great addition to our garden. The only problem I found was that the tools provided weren’t great, but I used my own. The hex screw tool was very difficult to use and did not fit some of the fasteners. It took the two of us just over an hour to assemble.”

Another satisfied customer wrote: “The best and most comfortable garden chair I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in. I was a little hesitant at first, but once I sat in it, I realized how comfortable and strong it is. I really didn’t want to go out!!!”

A third said: “Fabulous chair – great quality for the price! Much better than we expected and compared to other chairs we have seen in other stores. The cover, which came separately, however, wasn’t worth it as we couldn’t get it to stay in the wind. Instead, I put the chair in the garage during the wetter months and let it stand out.”

And a fourth, who left a five-star review, wrote: “So gorgeous and comfortable! We like. Much better price than in other places. Couldn’t be happier. We got a cover from Amazon for about half the price here.”

While most buyers left rave reviews, there were a handful of buyers who found the product not what they expected, so they gave the chair a lower rating. One unhappy buyer said: “We’ve had this chair for almost a month now and even purchased the special cover to keep it from getting wet…first of all it damaged our wall when the wind knocked it over!! Second, it looks like the cover didn’t keep it dry…we are trying to dry it inside the house since it’s raining outside, but it’s proving to be extremely difficult!! It’s been 48 hours and the pillow is still wet to the touch!!! Shocking.”

And a second wrote: “It’s a real shame as the base is really sturdy and good quality but the seat is too curved at the bottom so it’s uncomfortable for adults. You always feel like you’re sliding in and out, so you can’t relax. Really disappointed for the money and can’t recommend”
