Brighton are opening talks with Leeds £30m-plus star Crysencio Summerville

Brighton have opened talks with Leeds over a move for winger Crysencio Summerville, talkSPORT understands.

Leeds are set to lose £30m-rated Summerville after missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

Summerville’s current deal expires in September 2026.

The Yorkshire side narrowly missed out on an instant return to the top flight last month, losing 1-0 to Southampton at Wembley in the Championship play-off final.

As a result, Leeds fans fear many players will be heading for the exit with another season in the Championship ahead of them.

The 22-year-old joined Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020 after finishing as a Championship winner under Marcelo Bielsa.

After a season in the Under-21s, the Summerville Dutchman played 89 games for the club, scoring 25 goals and 12 assists.

Half of those appearances came in the Championship. He scored 19 goals and registered nine assists as Daniel Farke’s side were promoted. He was also named the Player of the Year in the championship.

Jack Harrison is another player who could leave this summer following his Premier League loan spell with Everton as part of what could be a mass exodus at Elland Road.

Archie Gray, Willy Gnonto and Georginio Rutter were also praised for their outings.

However, former Leeds star Jermaine Beckford has told talkSPORT that Gray is unlikely to leave.

Brighton, meanwhile, recently welcomed new manager Fabian Hurzeler.

He replaced Roberto De Zerbi, who left the club at the end of the Premier League season.

TalkSPORT understands, however, that the Italian is set for an immediate return to management.

Brighton have already signed one winger – Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaelland – for £16m, with the deal agreed in February.

They also released Adam Lallana and Steven Alzate, the former rejoining former club Southampton.
