Royal Enfield unveiled the Himalayan EV concept test bench at EICMA. Just for context, the testbed is one step ahead of the prototype model. The brand will use this test bed to try out new powertrains and electrical components. According to Royal Enfield, the Himalayan test bench prototype went through extensive wind tunnel testing to reduce the drag coefficient. This testbed has been in development for the past 18 months. So will it materialize into a product? It will most likely not lead to any future products, but could be used as a basis for future Royal Enfield electric vehicles. Important components such as the battery and frame were designed in-house by the brand.
