Teenager stabbed outside Leicester Square casino, central London cordoned off by police

A teenager was rushed to hospital with life-changing injuries after he was stabbed outside a central London casino early this morning (Tuesday 18 June). Police were called to Cranbourne Street in Leicester Square at 2.28am to reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived outside the Hippodrome Casino, they found a teenage male with stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.




His injuries are life-changing, police said, but he is not critical. Officers are now searching for the man’s attackers, with no arrests made at this time.

A crime scene is set up around the entrance to the Hippodrome Casino, with blue police cordons stretching parts of the street. Forensic teams were seen examining the scene.

The full statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Cranbourne Street, WC2 at around 2.28am on Tuesday 18 June following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service.

“A man, aged in his late teens, was found suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening but life-changing.

“No arrests have been made at this early stage. A crime scene remains in place at the location and investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident should call 101 quoting 664/18JUN”.
