Bournemouth and USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams has reflected on his time at Leeds United last year, leaving in bitter circumstances, having previously been a fan favorite at Elland Road.

Leeds’ current spell in the Championship is one that has come in rather unpleasant circumstances, following some controversial transfers following relegation.

Two have taken legal action to leave, both at Bournemouth in the 2023 summer window, as Tyler Adams jumped ship for £23million.

Tyler Adams shares his thoughts on Leeds United fans

As much as the relationship from the perspective of Leeds fans is destroyed on the Adams front, the USMNT captain is left with fond memories of his year at the club.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mail alongside Tim Howard, Adams says he’s been totally shocked by the level of support he and the team have received:

– It was a hassle. Honestly, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.

“When things really go, it’s amazing – the best thing ever. But when things don’t go well…”

Will Leeds be promoted next season?

The midfielder admitted that Elland Road fans don’t like the midfielder as he pushed for a departure, as he continued:

“It’s a team and a city built on hard work, it’s blue collar. I resonate with those fans incredibly well – to this day. Whether they say they hate me or not, I couldn’t care less.”

Adams has learned that the Leeds fan base works both ways

While Adams was here, he was loved at the club for his performances and commitment – sadly missing the end of the season when it would have been vital.

However, the way he secured his move to Bournemouth ruined any kind of legacy he had with us.

Most fans thought he deserved the move, but threatening legal action stinks and gets no good wishes from us.

He is undoubtedly a very good player and he didn’t need to act the way he did, which is a shame.
