How Bristol City’s season ticket prices compare to Leeds, Derby and their Championship rivals

Bristol City have one of the most expensive adult season ticket prices in the Championship, with a seat in Lansdown Lower only matched or beaten by the price of a lounge at Norwich City.

A seat in Lansdown Lower or the middle section of the upper tier for an adult cost £700 based on a renewal last term and is now on general sale for £736.25, slightly more than West Upper’s at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium, which is available for £735, having originally been priced at £671, while Norwich City, Castle, 59ers and Cathedral Lounges at Carrow Road are the biggest in the division, with 914 pounds.

City’s most competitive season tickets are at Lansdown Upper in the family section, which were available for renewal at £390 – one of the most affordable in the league – and are now on general sale for £410 sterling.

As a result, calculating the average adult season ticket price for 2024/25, based on renewal prices, reveals that City are third overall, with supporters paying an average of £545 to watch football in BS3, at same as Sheffield Wednesday and behind only Middlesbrough (£590.50) and Norwich (£729.50).

The Canaries and Boro also boast the most expensive ‘cheap’ tickets at £545 and £510 respectively, with only Luton Town, Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday breaking the £450 mark for an adult.

The City average is somewhat skewed by the high price of Lansdown Stand tickets, as if you take that out of the equation the average balances out at a more acceptable £494 based on renewal prices and £519 in general sale terms.

City have sold more than 13,500 season tickets for the 2024/25 campaign, amid a season in which the average attendance at Ashton Gate reached 22,550, the highest since returning to the Championship in 2015/16.

At the other end of the scale, the £65 under-12 ticket that was available at Ashton Gate before rising to £70 for the general sale, which also includes a free replica shirt, is bettered only by Hull City ( 60 pounds). ), Cardiff City (£59), Burnley and Millwall (£58), Watford (£35), West Brom (£23), Stoke City (£23) and Blackburn (£23), while QPR allow children under 8s get in free if accompanied by a ticket-paying adult, and Plymouth charge £10 for that age group.
