Erik Ten Hag staying at Manchester United offers ‘peace of mind’ – Kobbie Mainoo

Kobbie Mainoo has admitted it’s good to have “peace of mind” after Manchester United decided to stick with Erik ten Hag.

The United manager was at the center of an internal post-season review by INEOS at Old Trafford and led to the prospect of signing a new contract.

Even though United have spoken to other managerial candidates, including Thomas Tuchel, Mainoo is delighted that the Ten Hag is staying put.

“Obviously I’m happy to keep building with him, he’s won two trophies and there’s more to come,” said Mainoo. “It’s nice to have the peace of mind that we know which manager we’re going back to for pre-season.”

Mainoo is part of the England squad fighting to win Euro 2024 and came on for Jude Bellingham in the 86th minute during the 1-0 win over Serbia on Sunday night.

The 19-year-old midfielder believes that without the Ten Hag, there’s a chance he wouldn’t have made Gareth Southgate’s squad.

“I’m so grateful to him for putting his faith in me and believing in me to play in the team,” the United player continued. “I can’t thank him enough.”

England continue their group stage campaign against Denmark on Thursday.
