Top 50 Indie Park Garage Group says it plans to sponsor its local Rugby League team Wigan Warriors again next year, with its first season of supporting the club paying off in extra sales and goodwill from the local community.

The Court have spent several thousand pounds on a billboard on the midfield of the stadium and are creating further interest with a poster in the court offering 20% ​​off Subway and Creme purchases on match days for ticket holders.

Its 24-hour site in Wigan’s Scot Lane benefits from being a few hundred meters from the stadium and also opposite the away supporters’ car park, and at the halfway point of the 2024 season, matchday sales have risen to match the more fans know about giving. Sales on home game days increase by about 25%, with the peak hour being an hour before kick-off.

“We get quite a lot of buy-backs especially beforehand,” said Ian Cawley, head of operations at Park Garage Group, which operates 77 yards from Cornwall to Scotland and with a core area around the M25. “The team has strong regional support and because of where we are geographically a lot of the Wigan players come to the site so it’s a good way for us to get support from the locals,” he added. “Our food manager, Chloe, is a big Wigan fan and came up with the idea.”

The arrangement also gave the Hayes-headquartered group great exposure, says Cawley, with games being shown on Sky Sports.
