Liverpool fans react to ‘predictable’ Premier League fixtures that will make Jurgen Klopp laugh

Liverpool fans have had their say after the 2024/25 Premier League fixture list was published. The Reds face newly promoted Ipswich Town away in their opening game of the campaign on August 17.

New Liverpool boss Arne Slot will be hoping to get off to a winning start against Kieran McKenna’s side, who have secured back-to-back promotions over the past two seasons, with kick-off scheduled for 12:30 GMT.

The choice of match time is particularly ironic given manager Jurgen Klopp’s disdain for kick-off. Following the Tractor Boys clash, Liverpool will take on Brentford at Anfield on August 24.

This will be Slott’s first game in front of home supporters and the schedule grows in difficulty from there, with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United as the next fixture on August 31. Other notable games include the Merseyside derbies. on December 7 (away) and April 2 (home) – as well as a Boxing Day clash against Leicester City at Anfield.

Liverpool fans have since had their say on the kick-off as confidence begins to build ahead of Slott’s first campaign in charge of the Reds. One fan wrote: “It’s a straight win for us,” while another posted: “No matter what we’ll be there and do our best. Reds Forever”.

Some fans saw the funny side of being given a 12.30pm (GMT) kick-off, with one posting: “A 12.30pm kick-off to start the season… I know Klopp is laughing at home,” with another joke: “So predictable guys.”
