Glastonbury organizers’ request to fans before going to the festival

The brains behind Glastonbury Festival have shared one final request for anyone attending the event in Somerset next week. Anyone preparing their festival kit has been advised to leave the gazebos at home.

From Wednesday June 26 to Sunday June 30, Glastonbury is running its own campaign – Love Worthy Farm, Leave No Trace – which seeks to encourage festival-goers to only bring items that can be taken home at the end of the weekend. Glastonbury it also encourages people to avoid single-use items and instead opt for reusable options whenever possible.

In a post uploaded to Glastonbury’s official Instagram account, it asked fans to leave any gazebos at home, saying they take up “valuable tent space” for others, as well as a polite request that read: “No gazebos, you please”. Although gazebos are not prohibited at the festival, it is advised not to bring them.

Glastonbury Festival wrote: “Please do not bring gazebos to Glastonbury 2024 as they take up valuable marquee space. If any appear, people can be politely asked to take them down to make room for others to camp.

“Also, we would ask that you do not put tape around the tent, please. It makes it difficult for others to access their tents, can cause a hazard and creates unnecessary waste. Thank you.”

The festival website recommended that if you want to mark your camping territory, you should place tape around your tent. This also makes it more difficult to enter the tents.

What not to bring to Glastonbury Festival

Attendees are warned that they may be searched upon entering the festival, items will be confiscated and will not be returned. Anyone suspected of illegal and/or offensive activity on site may also be searched and may be evicted, including fireworks.
