Report | Tigers fall to Sharks at Salford Community Stadium

Leicester Tigers went down to Sale Sharks 31-15 at Salford Community Stadium in Round 17 of the Gallagher Premiership.

A frustrating night for the Tigers saw the home side control the game, the Tigers now look forward to their final game of the season against Exeter at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

The Tigers came out of the blocks making tackles on the Sale defense and it was Dan Cole who would have the try, just 5 of him.th five points for the club in his storied career.

Pollard failed to find the range with the conversion to have an early advantage.

Sale answered and began dictating the terms. The home side would strike through Gus Warr and the Tigers lost Ollie Hassell-Collins to sinbin.

The Sharks would take the lead through Tommy Taylor and were firmly in the ascendancy.

However, a loose pass found Matt Scott who intercepted for the Tigers’ second try. Pollard added extra to make it 14-12.

Despite the score, Sale looked dangerous in attack and found Sam James’ third score. Ford continued to impress with his kicking and pushed the home side’s lead to 21-12.

The Tigers would add three points just before the half through Jamie Shillcock and it would remain 21-15 as the teams ran to the locker rooms after an action-packed half in the heat.

Sale struck shortly after the restart with Tom O’Flaherty finishing after a deft flick in behind the Tigers defence.

Ford converted and would add a penalty in the 57thth minute to make it 31-15 with just over 20 to play.

George Martin grabbed the Tigers’ third try in the dying minutes, but it would be too late in the tie.

Final score, 31-22.
