Speed dating is making a comeback in Cornwall – but more women are needed to take part

Speed dating looks set to make a comeback as an event is planned for singletons in Cornwall. Dating Coach, which claims to be the county’s only personalized matchmaking agency, has a speed dating session planned for Falmouth.

Comprised of “mini dates,” the concept of speed dating was popularized in the 90s but has faded over the years as younger generations prefer dating apps like Hinge and Tinder. But this Cornish business proves there’s still demand for meeting people in person.

Set to take place on June 30, the event page states it’s “a relaxed, fun, safe and exciting opportunity to find your perfect match.” It will give singles the chance to get to know their date in a nutshell, with the bell ringing when it’s time for the next date in classic format.

The company adds: “Our speed date events take place in carefully selected locations across the county. We strive to host a venue that serves a range of good quality alcoholic and soft drinks as well as a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. “

During the evening, participants will then be able to mingle and get to know other people better. You will also be provided with an ‘appointment card’ to assist with the matching process.
