Man taken to hospital after fight breaks out at Grove Park store

A man was taken to hospital after a fight broke out at a Grove Park store.

The incident happened yesterday (June 17) in Baring Road, off Coppers Lane, just after 9.30pm.

Officers and crews from the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man injured.

He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.

Another man, involved in the fight, was involved in an accident while fleeing the scene.

No arrests have been made as police inquiries continue into the circumstances.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 9.34pm on Monday 17 June to reports of a fight between two men at a shop in Baring Road, SE12.

“As one of the men ran away, he was involved in a collision with a car.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and a crime scene was established.

“The man was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing.

“No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.”
