Green Day at Emirates Old Trafford – Prohibited items list and bag rules for the Manchester show

This Friday, Emirates Old Trafford will welcome American rock band Green Day to the UK leg of The Saviors tour, which celebrates 30 years of Dookie and 20 years of American Idiot.

The Californian rockers have played venues across North America and Europe and will play some of their biggest hits for Manchester fans on Friday (June 21). It promises to be a “larger-than-life celebration spanning the career of one of the greatest musical acts of all time.”




Consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, the band – formed in 1987 – is best known for hits such as American Idiot, 21 Guns and Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Support for the UK shows comes from Maid Of Ace and special guests Nothing But Thieves.

Due to the scale of the events at Emirates Old Trafford, there will be tight security and a number of guidelines will be in place to ensure the safety of all concertgoers. This means that there will be a number of prohibited items that you are not allowed to take into the ground.

All ticket holders will also be screened by security officials en route to entry. Below, you’ll find a guide to what you can and can’t attend the two concerts and more information on what you can and can’t do at the shows. You are not allowed to take your own food and drink into the ground – but there are food and drink options once you pass security.

People are advised not to bring a bag to the event when possible as this will help speed up the process of getting people to the venue. If you need to bring a bag with you then it will need to be no larger than A4 size – and will be searched by security.

In addition, any camera will need to fit into a small bag no larger than A4 size. The venue does not recommend that you bring large or expensive kit with you and there will be no luggage areas on site.
