Priti Patel visits Nuneaton and delivers a general election message to locals

Priti Patel called in Nuneaton and had a message for the locals. In what was a low-key stop, the former home secretary met Conservative candidate Marcus Jones.

They were in the Whitestone area of the city during a flyer on Monday, June 17, and she spoke about her personal experience of how Mr. Jones has supported the city. He is seeking re-election, having been the voice of Nuneaton and Arley in Parliament for 14 years.

She said: “Marcus has been an outstanding Member of Parliament for Nuneaton, I know this because I have worked with Marcus in Parliament as well and he is a fantastic local barrister.”

She continued: “And I have to say, please vote for Marcus Jones in the general election if you want a strong voice for Nuneaton because he is local and has always been a very strong supporter of Nuneaton and there are so many issues local. where I know you have been a great champion for.”

Her visit to the city was not the only one made by important figures from the Conservative Party. Chris Heaton Harris, the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, also came to the St Nicolas area earlier this month.

But both were less enthusiastic than visits by leading Labor politicians, including when Labor leader Keir Starmer visited a school in Nuneaton last week. The city is quickly receiving a lot of national attention, largely due to its bellwether status.
