Plans have been revealed to demolish part of a Coventry care home

Part of a Coventry care home could be demolished to make way for an extension. The plans are to bulldoze an existing single-storey outhouse and two-storey cottage on the Fairfield Home site in Butler Crescent.

In place of the buildings, which are opposite the care home, will be two single storey self-contained extensions comprising ten and six en-suite bedrooms and utility room extension to the side of the existing care home. There would also be a new rubbish store, cycle storage and storage shed with associated parking and access changes.

A demolition application plan has been submitted to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and explains: “The purpose of the demolition management plan is to outline the approach to managing the soft lane and the demolition of a building opposite Fairfield care home.

“Its plan and proposals are to enable third parties to understand the nature of the works and the various demolition activities carried out by the approved contractor associated with the development to be carried out by TC Homes Contracting.”

“Maintaining good neighborly relations is greatly aided by good communication and regular third party notification of site activities that may impact on the local business and residential communities. TC Homes Contracting found that listening to reasonable concerns and demonstrating care. and professional approach will always maintain a well-balanced relationship.
