Leeds United are close to sanctioning a permanent move for Marc Roca to Real Betis this week and it won’t be a problem for the club’s PSR.

White’s actions in the coming weeks and months of the summer transfer window will be largely dictated by PSR calculations and how player sales benefit the 49ers.

Selling those on loan last summer will also be a major help, and Marc Roca looks set to be the first to sort them out this month.

Marc Roca is “progressing” towards a permanent transfer to Real Betis

Reports in Spain on Tuesday claimed that Roca was closing in on completing a move to Real Betis on a permanent deal.

It’s an interesting development for the Spaniard, given Leeds’ play-off final defeat re-activated a loan clause in his contract, meaning the Sevilla club could trigger that deal to have him temporarily back in 24/25.

LeedsLive’s Beren Cross has now said that the deal is progressing towards a full agreement between the two clubs and the player.

Are you happy that Red Bull have invested in Leeds?

As Cross claims, the fee is likely to be less than the £10m Leeds paid for him in 2022, now halfway through his four-year deal at Elland Road.

However, he states that the club’s position on PSR’s assessment of this deal is that it will not affect the club’s position:

Roca off the books is a good update for Leeds

Leeds will have to be tighter on funds this summer due to a drop in parachute payments and income.

However, Roca leaving the club for an acceptable fee is a great start to transfer business in June.

The club already appear to be in a much better position than they were last around 12 months ago, and this sale proves it.
