The stretch of the A390 near St Austell will close overnight for almost a month

A portion of the A390 is scheduled to close overnight for most of next month. The closure, which affects a section of the A road near St Austell, is for resurfacing work.

Affecting the St Blazey route between the Four Lords pub junction and the church, where average speed cameras are in place, Rose Hill will be closed between 7pm and 6am. Anyone traveling this way during the evening, night and early morning is asked to plan ahead

Cormac, a Cornwall Council company, says the closure will be to carry out resurfacing work on the entire one-mile length of the road. The road has several potholes marked for several months.

The closure will take place between July 1 and July 20. The pavement will not be closed during the works according to the Cormac website, but delays are expected for motorists. The diversion route has not yet been confirmed.

Cornwall Council budgets around £40 million a year for ongoing road maintenance and is responsible for over 7,250 kilometers of roads. Around £30m of this money is going towards planned repairs to road surfaces, relining, drainage issues and road safety improvements.
