Bristol Morrisons raided as thieves steal cash

The cash was stolen after a store in Bristol was raided earlier today (Wednesday, June 19). Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation following the robbery in Southmead.

A car reportedly smashed through the doors of the Morrisons Daily store, in Arnside Road, at around 6am. An offender then threatened staff and demanded money.




A quantity of cash was stolen before the robber got back into the car waiting outside. Fortunately, no staff members were injured.

Avon & Somerset Police said: “One offender is described as being of mixed race, around 5ft 9in and wearing a green Mac-style coat and a gray cap. His face was partially covered. The driver of the vehicle is described as white – we don’t have any further description of him at this time.

“Officers attended the scene and house to house and CCTV inquiries are ongoing. If you saw this incident or have relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, please call us on 101 and give the operator reference number 5224158018.”
