Mohamed Salah could offer Liverpool a transfer advantage for $54m ace who sees him as ‘big brother’

Almost as soon as Arne Slot walks through the door at Liverpool, there will be questions about what his squad will look like and who he might sign in the summer transfer window. The latter part of that will mainly be the responsibility of sporting director Richard Hughes, but the connection and the query is understandable.

Liverpool will not need wholesale changes to their squad, as the performance against Tottenham showed. Instead, a bit more depth and extra quality in key areas will be vital. Jürgen Klopp leaves behind a very good starting point, but there is still work to be done in the coming months.




According to German publication BILD, Liverpool and Spurs after going head-to-head at the weekend – they are set to fight for a summer transfer. And the player in question is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush.

Although not a household name outside of the Bundesliga, Marmoush has had an impressive season and has also been linked with Arsenal and Newcastle United. He has scored 16 times in all competitions, 11 of which (and a further six assists) have come in 27 Championship appearances.

The 25-year-old’s deal in Frankfurt runs until 2027 and Frankfurt are only “willing to talk” about selling him if there is an offer of around $54m (£43m/€50m euro). Firstly, the number nine, he can also play on both flanks.

“I’m learning everything from Mohamed Salah on and off the pitch,” Marmoush said in March, via Ahram Online. “It’s a great honor to play alongside one of the best players in the world.”
