Leeds player ‘dwindling hope’ of parting with £4m despite gentleman’s deal

Leeds United are busy preparing the future of Victor Orta’s loan army, with Brenden Aaronson set to play a role next season, but another’s next move remains undecided.

Eight players left Leeds last summer on loan using Orta’s relegation clause to leave temporarily following their relegation to the Championship. A clause that Daniel Farke lamented, meaning Leeds could not sell her.

Robin Koch and Luis Sinisterra have since agreed permanent moves to their respective loan clubs in Frankfurt and Bournemouth. However, Aaronson is back at Leeds and will play a key role under Daniel Farke.

Reports on Wednesday claim that Jack Harrison will return to Everton on loan next season, with the winger still boasting the same loan clause that prevented Leeds from selling him to The Toffees last summer.

Marc Roca is closing in on a permanent move to Real Betis, but the futures of Rasmus Kristensen, Max Wober and Diego Llorente remain undecided. Now, an update from Calcio Mercato on Llorente.

Llorente update amid talks of permanent Roma resettlement

The 30-year-old Spain international has spent the last 18 months on loan at Roma, making 54 appearances. Last season, he helped Roma reach the Europa League final before playing over 40 times last season.

There is a gentleman’s agreement between Leeds, Roma and Llorente to reach an agreement, while Llorente’s agent met with Roma’s sporting director last week to finally discuss a deal for Llorente in Rome.

Now Calcio Mercato say that as time goes on, Llorente has “less and less hope” of making a permanent move to Roma. The Italian side are still undecided about spending the £4.3m needed to offload him.

Llorente is desperate to join Roma permanently from Leeds

The report also says that Llorente wants to move to Roma beyond the loan to avoid having to return to Leeds and play in the Championship. He hinted at a move to Rome on his Instagram.

But now, it’s up to Roma if they want to do a deal for the defender. Llorente wants a move and Leeds are keen to get him off the books, even if they take a huge £14m loss on the £18m signing.
