Cooper close to being hired as Leicester’s new manager

Steve is about to take over from Foes.

Talks are in the final stages after Steve became the preferred head coach of the newly-promoted side.

He was on a shortlist that also included former Seagulls and Blues manager Graham Potter.

Steve has been unemployed since being sacked by Nottingham Forest at the end of last year.

The Foxes won promotion back to the EPL after triumphing in the Championship last campaign under Enzo Maresca, who has since been appointed as Chelsea’s new boss.

The new manager’s main task will be to keep Leicester City in the Premier League and avoid relegation back to the Championship. The task will not be easy given the financial rules that EPL clubs must adhere to in order to comply with fair play.
