Village tearooms run by the Coronation Street legend’s wife have queues out the door

Coronation Street legend Simon Gregson might be a household name thanks to his role in the long-running soap, but away from the cameras he has something of a second job.

Simon’s ITV serial alter-ego Steve McDonald is notorious for his many wives and romantic misadventures. Corrie’s Steve has been married seven times.

Luckily for Simon, 49, his love life couldn’t be more different and he’s been happily married to former Hollyoaks actress Emma Gleave since 2010. Together they have three sons: Alfie, Harry and Henry Teddy.

Emma took over a popular tea shop in Cheshire in October 2022, as previously reported, and is now showing off her incredible baking talent. She wakes up at the crack of dawn each morning to bake a range of traditional cakes for the cafe, before heading out to set up and serve a range of hot and cold dishes and teas and coffees right in the tearooms.

And when Simon isn’t filming Corrie scenes, he’s also often working at his wife’s cafe.

Emma became accustomed to queuing out the door at lunchtimes and weekends as word quickly spread about her home-cooked delights. Recent Tripadvisor reviews rave about Emma’s afternoon tea, scones and Victoria sponge cakes.
