People and businesses in Birmingham who haven’t paid their tax as HMRC publishes list

HMRC have named and shamed people and businesses in Birmingham who owe thousands of pounds in unpaid tax. The updated list of deliberate paid debtors is published quarterly by the fiscal.

A person or business appears on the list if they have deliberately failed to pay tax of more than £25,000. HMRC publishes the list as a deterrent, warning anyone who avoids paying tax that they will be tracked down and their names made public.

A handful of Birmingham businesses are included in this latest list – including a takeaway service and a minibus service. All details are correct at time of writing according to HMRC.

Birmingham businesses accused of not paying tax

Estrada Services Ltd

Listed as a business consultancy, Estrada Services LTD owes £640,193 in unpaid tax between April 2019-September 2020 and April 2021-March 2022. HMRC has ordered the company to pay the full amount.

Sparrowapp Ltd

Minibus hire service Sparrowapp LTD owes unpaid tax of £58,411.24 and has been ordered to pay a tax penalty of £48,732.56. The firm, based in Castle Bromwich, owes money to HMRC for a period between March 2021 to August 2021 and December 2021 to August 2022.

Joes Burgers Ltd

The former Coventry Road diner and restaurant, which traded as ‘Buba Joe’s’, owes £30,606 in tax. The store was ordered to pay the full amount to HMRC for the period April 2020-April 2021.

This haulage company, based on Bowden Road in Smethwick, owes £243,637 in unpaid tax. The company was ordered to pay a penalty of £157,761.42.

City of Gold Limited

Trading as ‘Golden City’, this Chinese restaurant in Selly Oak owes £156,018.96 in unpaid tax for the period April 2017 to March 2020. HMRC ordered the company to pay a penalty of £60,067.

Matthews Electronics Limited

Previously trading as ‘4DJ’, the DJ-affiliated retail firm owes £66,271.17 in tax. Formerly 138 Gooch Street, the firm was fined £62,957.60.

Solihull Financial Services Limited

The financial services firm, based at The Coach House on Frederick Road in Birmingham, owes £45,861 in unpaid tax for the period from April 2022 to April 2022. The firm was fined £43,568.72.

Ruro Ltd

Business support providers Ruro Ltd, formerly of 34 Plume St, owe £36,246.16 in unpaid tax. The firm was fined £34,433.85.

Tech Traders Ltd

Electronics traders Tech Traders LTD, formerly of Monk Road in Ward End, owe £93,496 in unpaid tax. The firm was fined £65,447.76.

Acute Recruitment Consultants Ltd

The residential care facility firm was hit with a tax penalty of £59,000.50 after evading £90,770 in tax between April 2020 and April 2022. The firm is based at 45 Meadow Rise, Birmingham.

People in Birmingham accused of not paying their taxes

Dineshlal Chudasama

Dineshlal Chudasama, of Baldwins Lane in Shirley, owes £122,828.08 in unpaid property tax to HMRC. They were ordered to pay a penalty of £69,090.

Asgarali Rajabali

This accountant, based at Amafhh House on Calthorpe Road, owes unpaid tax of £112,428 from April 2010 to April 2020. They have been fined £105,682.

Safina Kauser

Safina Kauser, of Yew Tree Road in Aston, avoided paying £111,872 in property tax between April 2015 and April 2020. They were fined £43,070.

Ion Lucian Dumitru

Formerly of Repton Road, Birmingham, Ion Lucian Dumitru owes £75,729 in unpaid tax during his time working in construction from April 2019 to April 2021. They were fined £49,034.52.
