Birmingham City are under contract with the goalkeeper who are ‘very confident’ of Chris Davies’ claim

Brad Mayo has expressed his delight at agreeing a new contract with Birmingham City.

The goalkeeper has signed a two-year deal that will keep him at the Blues until at least June 2026 – and which comes into effect when his current terms expire at the end of the month.

Mayo has made good progress since joining the Blues as an under-9 and rose through the academy to sign his first professional contract last summer. What followed was a breakout campaign with the U21s and increasing exposure at first team level.

Indeed, Mayo has been named in five matchday squads and although he is yet to make a first-team appearance, he is now training regularly with the seniors – something he hopes to continue to do under Chris Davies next season .

“I’m over the moon, I feel like it’s been a really good year,” he told Blues TV. “This is my home club, I love every minute I’m here, it felt right to continue the journey.

“Hopefully we can move on to the next step. It is very good for them to show this interest in me and I hope that now I can develop and go to the next level.
