What does the Doncaster Sheffield Airport reopening timeline look like?

This will be followed by an “intensive evaluation period, where the board looks for the best fit among the proposals. This will be completed by the end of July, after which the chosen investor will be informed in late July to early August – with the announcement made by my Mayor, Ros Jones.

The legal process and other parties will have to take place and the signing of the takeover agreement will probably take place in September.

Earlier this year, the DSA took a giant step towards reopening after the council agreed a 125-year lease to secure the future of the site. Ms Jones said at the time: “This is a significant day in our ambition to reopen the airport as the lease has been signed. This is a major step in the reopening process. Next is the appointment of an operator and investor who will manage and develop the airport.”

The future looks positive for the airport, let’s hope this timeline is one towards a fruitful future for the much loved airport.
