The air ambulance responds after a car collides with a pedestrian in Seaton Sluice

Emergency services, including the Great North Air Ambulance, were called to the scene after a car collided with a pedestrian in Seaton Sluice. The incident happened near the Waterford Arms just after 3pm on Monday.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called just after 3.20am on Monday 17 June to an incident involving a car and a pedestrian near the Waterford Arms, Seaton Sluice.

“We sent a double manned ambulance, two resources from our hazard zone response team and requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance. One patient was taken by road to Northumbria Emergency Specialist Hospital.”

A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service also said: “Yesterday our critical care team was activated at 3.24pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Seaton Sluice.

“We had a doctor and a paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived at the scene at 3.33pm. Our team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient. They returned to their base at 16.15”.
