BT moves to Sheffield Digital Campus

The communications giant has taken possession of its new South Yorkshire base, the seven-storey, 65,000 sq ft Endeavor building.

Workers from across the company have begun moving into the building, which will house up to 1,000 employees.

Staff at Endeavor will include those from its consumer and business divisions, while it will also become the main base for employees of Sheffield-based Plusnet, which has been part of BT Group since 2006.

BT announced its intentions to create a hub at the building, close to Sheffield station, last year and handover took place in August. Scarborough Group was the developer, GMI the contractor and CJCT the architect.

The investment is part of BT’s Better Workplace programme, which has also seen major moves in places such as Bristol and Salford, where it has hired for ECF’s New Bailey.

The Doncaster Group contact center underwent a major overhaul in 2021, with 350 new jobs created on site.

Brent Mathews, property director at BT Group, said: “Sheffield is an important strategic location for BT Group and opening this office in the heart of the city allows us to provide a state-of-the-art building for our colleagues based here. .

“Our Better Workplace program was designed to ensure our colleagues work in future-proof buildings they can be proud of, and Endeavor perfectly embodies this.

“While the last few years have seen changes in working patterns and increased flexibility, offices remain an integral part of the way we work, enabling us to bring colleagues together to collaborate and support economic growth in our locations key.”
