Hansi Flick in talks to return to Bayern Munich

Rohl’s former boss, Hansi Flick, is now according to reports in talks over a dramatic return to Bayern Munich this summer.

Rohl was previously Flick’s number 2 in Munich before the pair moved to take charge of the German national team in 2021.

Flick has been out of work since 2023, visiting Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday earlier this year, where he watched the Owls beat Plymouth Argyle 1-0 in the Championship.

Both appear to have kept in touch, with Rohl previously speaking of his close relationship with Flick, who could entrust the development of a Bayern Munich youngster with Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday, should he takes over at the German giants this summer.

Could Sheffield Wednesday realistically sign players from Bayern Munich on loan

Bayern Munich to Sheffield Wednesday would be a big change, especially in the here and now, with the Owls still in a period of transition.

The club is making a lot of positive changes off the pitch, but they still have a lot of rebuilding to do this summer, as well as Rohl’s future to reaffirm.

But clubs often send their youngsters out on loan towards the end of the summer when they have organized their first team.

So for Sheffield Wednesday, if they can get ready for 2024/25 sooner rather than later, then they can offer themselves to clubs like Bayern Munich as a place for their younger players to come and win. some first team experience.

Playing under Rohl has brought the best out of almost every Sheffield Wednesday player this season, with youngsters such as James Beadle, Di’Shon Bernard, Djeidi Gassama and others prevailing.

So Rohl seems to have a knack for players, especially the younger ones, and Flick will know exactly what his Bayern youngsters would get in terms of training and style of play if he sent them to play under Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday.

The pair can naturally be very similar in that regard and so for Bayern, allowing the younger players to go and get experience with Wednesday would be beneficial in terms of molding them into how they want to be moulded.

Of course, it depends on Flick heading first to Bayern and then Sheffield Wednesday, in a position where they can realistically welcome some of the club’s younger players for next season, even if from their reserve team.

While it may seem far-fetched on paper, it’s certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.
